Simply put – the best book ever written on prayer simply said on each page – Just pray.  There is no substitute for practice – but to practice we must engage.  Prayer as we talked about is us meeting with God with a quiet heart and listening to him and talking to him.  It is that natural.  As you pray we begin to know Him better and we see more clearly God working in everything in our lives for good.  Romans 8:28.  May I encourage you to Ask and keep asking, to knock and keep knocking, to seek and keep seeking – He loves you and loves meeting with you.

Meditation-

We have completely forgotten about this timeless art of Meditation. Something that our Lord and Savior did quite often. It is not a mental trick yet a theological grace. Christian Meditation is the ability to hear God’s voice and obey his word. That’s it! No mantra, no contemplating on ones navel, no inward cosmic surfing. It’s the detachment from the confusion all around us in order to have a richer attachment to God.

Suggestions on Meditation…

Get alone.

Walking.

Beach and Parks.

Find a place that is quiet and free from interruption.

(That means turn off your cell phone)

Memorize portions of scripture to dwell on.
